About

Our Story

Founded in 2026 by filmmaker RJ Alder, No Bridge Too Far Productions aims to bring authentic stories and diverse perspectives to the wider audience that needs them. RJ, nonverbal until the age of 3, was always entranced by the silver screen, a fact which still perplexes his therapists and relatives. How could an autistic kid with severe ADHD, baffled by the goings-on of “real” social interaction, stay glued to the couch during a multi-episode Phineas and Ferb arc? In a chaotic world of constant overstimulation and seemingly irrational social mores, the choreographed actions and exchanges of onscreen characters felt like the guidebook RJ needed to a foreign universe. Slow pans revealed a fictional world to him at a pace he could follow. Close-ups appeared like road signs, pointing out emotional cues. Ambient light acted as a solace from the fluorescent lights of shopping malls and classrooms which assaulted his retinas. RJ's love of film led him, at first hesitantly, to make his first film on his iPhone X, and the rest is history. His passion for filmmaking led him to a community of like-minded artists, who understood and supported each other in their common goal to represent the human condition onscreen.  Just as movies gave him a voice when he was literally rendered silent, he's discovered his calling and the calling of No Bridge Too Far - using the camera to shine light on unseen realities.

Graduating with a 4.0 average from Bridges Academy in May 2026, he is planning to pursue a B.F.A. in Filmmaking at Woodbury University in the Fall of 2027. In his imminent gap year, he plans to dedicate his time to making more films, traveling and attempting to understand the art of small talk.

No Bridge Too Far Productions

No Bridge Too Far Productions is a testament to founder RJ Alder's origin story. Born prematurely via an emergency C-section with the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck, every step of RJ's journey has been one of reaching for goals that were deemed unattainable. Nonverbal until the age of 3, RJ spent his early years struggling to learn the basic skills most of us are born with (walking, talking, eating solid food), but he undertook intensive therapy each day with a winning smile and a "never say never" attitude. Striving for the next goal, whatever that may be, was always a given - a persistence he was born with. When he became enamored with film, he encountered Sir Richard Attenborough's 1977 film"A Bridge Too Far", scripted by William Goldman and populated with a star studded cast. The film depicts a failed Allied operation in the Nazi-occupied Netherlands during World War II, and illustrates the dangers of pushing too hard, taking risks to capture A Bridge that turns out to be too far. When he needed to name his production company, RJ lit upon the concept that has defined his life: there is No Bridge Too Far if he indeed wants to capture it. Tying in with the name of his alma mater, Bridges Academy, No Bridge Too Far Productions strives to give voice to the underrepresented in all areas of life. Everyone's story deserves to be told, and NBTF Productions strives to live up to that mission statement.
